The Philadelphia GOP also tweeted about this incident:
Another citizen who voted at the Allegheny County reported, “I just voted in Allegheny County. The scanning machine broke. The ballots are being put in the machine drawer without scanning them first!!!!!!!!.” Another said, “Voting in Allegheny county PA rn- polls were supposed to open at 7am, been here since 6:45. Big line, but polls still aren’t ready to open, per poll workers. Good weather but cold.”
A media reporter updated social media regarding the voting progress at Allegheny County, she tweeted, “Let’s thread pre-canvassing here. Allegheny County says about 25% of the ballots are at “some stage of processing.” More than 13,500 “have gone through the declaration review and have had the declaration envelope opened and the secrecy envelopes extracted.” Another media representative said, “In Allegheny County, all 1,323 polling places will be open. Poll workers have been provided with masks, gloves, face shields, hand sanitizer, cleaning materials and tape to mark social distancing, the county says — and there will be plexiglass at sign-in tables as well.”
One user tweeted, “Can anyone tell me why Allegheny County switched over to paper ballots from voting machines? Even the poll workers were confused.” The reason for this last-minute change is unknown.
The current voting at Allegheny County has been reported by a media person who tweeted, “Good morning from the Allegheny County (Pittsburgh!) mail ballot warehouse.
