Two state legislators have claimed that people are being told they are positive for COVID-19 even though they have not been tested for it.
Two local state legislators claimed in social media posts Wednesday night that there have been several incidents in which people not tested for COVID-19 have been told they are positive for the virus.
In posts on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, state Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, shared an email from an unnamed House colleague who said he had learned of a situation where people went to a COVID-19 testing site, shared their information, but got tired of waiting and left before being tested, only to be contacted later and told they tested positive.
“This is not the first (or even close to being the first) report of this situation that we have received,” Bernstine wrote in his Facebook post. “I am continuing to work with my colleagues to obtain answers from the PA Department of Health.”
On Twitter, Bernstine posted the same message, but added. “This is INSANE!”
